This presentation discusses troubled projects from two points of view – identifying potential causes of trouble, and first actions to take if trouble breaks out.
Most project managers don’t have the luxury of joining their projects at inception. If they did, there would be fewer troubled projects! This presentation shows project managers how to do a quick check upon assuming the responsibility of managing a particular project. The check can identify problem sources before the problems actually break out. If on the other hand, the project manager inherits a project that already has problems, then taking the right actions immediately can set the stage for an effective course of action. After initiating corrective action, a project manager must then follow a deliberate plan of action and accomplish specific steps to create a recovery or shut-down plan that is effective and appropriate.
You will learn:
* a quick checklist for potential project risks
* the immediate first aid steps for a troubled project
* the major steps in developing a full recovery plan
